We welcome riders who want coaching.  Some folks want to learn to enjoy riding a nice horse; some want to compete or train their own horse.  My teaching is geared to the riders, the horse and the goals.  As the challenge increases, my coaching gets more aggressive.  My job is to keep a rider from getting in trouble, whether he or she is a child learning to ride a gentle horse or a cutter heading for the show pen; from safety and horse-sense to keeping the winning edge on a tuned show horse.   We are here to get you on a horse that suits you and your goals and keep you and your horse on track.

Training

Our horses in training come from differing backgrounds.  We raise and start our own youngsters.  We start two year olds for customers and continue on with them.  Other horses come from varying programs for more training or tuning.

Of course, we prefer to start the horses we will eventually show.  However, all the horses here go through my program to develop the tools - the "dance steps" they need to advance their skills.

Years ago, I wanted to find a method of training that produced user-friendly, confident performers, a system that would allow me not only to train a young horse, but also to retrain a problem horse.  Many of our show horses, both in the Open and the Non-Pro have been retrained problem horses.  Furthermore, horses with theses tools are able to transition quite smoothly to other disciplines.

Although we hope every horse will show enough potential to stay in cutting training, in reality a percentage will find futures in other areas.  Given the cost of training and the level of competition, it is imperative that a horse be regularly evaluated, and that he find the life in which he will excel.  If not cutting, perhaps cowhorse; sorting or versatility; maybe ranch work; even hunter/jumper.  There is no value in ruining a horse trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Those horses that stay in the cutting program go in the open, non-pro or amateur divisions with me, the owner or both in the saddle.

Coaching

We attend all the Southern Oklahoma Cutting Horse Association shows; monthly shows in Ada, OK.  We also attend Longhorn Association shows, Muenster CHA shows and Chisholm Trail CHA shows.  While we do compete at other aged events, we do mostly weekend showing.  We haul our customer's horses or meet them at the show, and do not require that the customer keep his horse with us rather than at home.

This year, we are branching out and attending OK Stock Horse Association events as well as NCHA shows.  The OKSHA format offers a different challenge than cutting, one that  some riders will find quite appealing.  The emphasis is on learning, improving you and "your horse's" performance and meeting other riders as you compete in 4 events - reining, cow-horse (which is geared in degree of difficulty to the particular level of competition), pleasure and trail.  Many folks will find the OKSHA shows to be a lot of fun and a great place to start competing and a continuing challenge.

Sales

As breeders, we always have a few young horses and broodmares for sale.  Most youngsters are by our stallion Playboy Elan.  Which make them prospects for any performance event, depending on each individual.  A few colts are by outside stallions.

We always have a few well-started 2 and 3 year olds for sale and usually have a few older horses available.  If we do not have a horse to fit you, we will find one or will evaluate a horse you find, if you would like.  We love to match the right horse to the right rider and watch great things happen.

Financing terms are available on our sale horses.
